Also called "scalloped potatoes". It is an easy to make recipe
from the French Alps with potatoes and cheese. Once you get the basics you can
add your own personal touch.
Ingredients (for
4 people)
1 kg potatoes
50 cl milk
1 egg
100 g grated Gruyere
cheese
1 clove of garlic
1 pinch of nutmeg
salt, pepper
Procedure
Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin
slices.
Peel a clove of garlic and rub the
surface of a gratin dish with it.
Place a layer of
potatoes on the bottom of the dish, Cover it with the grated gruyere, salt and pepper. Add a pinch of
nutmeg and some milk.
Repeat this operation several times to fill
up the gratin dish.
